Updates soon.

I've been down and out and away and hence I haven't spent much times on this blog.
I however have achieved a few pieces (80x40, 50x30,etc...) and I held an exhibition in southern France back in June.
Pictures are coming up soon, please bear with me until I do so.
Feel free to add me on Facebook (Lauren Jkrsn) for other infos.

I would also start to dedicate this blog to music, I am now a proud member of Yeah Dish records (facebook: Yeah Dish Records).
Stay tuned,
Lauren.

Needles pt.2, from "The Workbook", 50x30

Thank you for being a friend, A2

Pieces of goats, tongs, ribcage, bones and such are part of her body. Decomposition is opposed to youth and beauty just like in Baudelaire's poem "La Charogne". This picture is adapted from an advertisment where an 18 y.o. is posing in the exact same position wearing a simple pair of underwear. The moto says "Live more, It's your life".
Aiming at the youth to make money is media's way to ruin our generation.
Red pen and pastels.

Life Step 2 (The Fear), 50x30

Formerly sketched for the workbook, I decided to add the inks and make another piece out of it.
This is the step before "Decomposition" and hence the fear it brings.

MARS pt.2, 50x30

Watch out for MARS pt.1 for the explanations.

Snails, from "The Workbook"

Please notice that each drawings taken from "the workbook" measures 50x30 cm.

Pipistrello, from "The Workbook"

Glassbones, from "The workbook".

I decided to put drawings from my workbook and other drafts to make my work a little clearer, giving a simple approach to it. Most of those drafts are done with a biro, some others are casual media experiments. Loads are coming, I hold on to it.
Enjoy.

MARS pt.1, 50x30

The "Mars" serie is dedicated to abstract and particularly the expressionist one. There are 2 other versions to come with the same media (ink) and size (50x30).

Needles pt.1, 50x30

Layers of inks and Indian Ink overall. The basic drawing was done with a black pen.

POLLEN! (50x30)

GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN BUY GREEN.

Life step 3, 50x30

Distorted from a grandfather portrait (viewable on the "workbook" pages soon), life step 3 follows "the Fear" (inks, 50x30, viewable soon).

Di Klaus, Inks on Paper, 50x30

The Abortion pt.1, 50x30

Cover from The Scream pt.1, 50x30

"The scream" is perhaps the greatest painting ever made and the starting point of expressionism. Covering it is purely arrogant, but learning how to interprete it is different and interesting. I studied the original painting for hours and came out is several versions.
This is the first one, done with Pastels, Indian Ink and pens.

O Pamela, 130x80

I Was going through Helmut Newton's book on Alice Spring last summer.
I wanted to paint something simple; with a more appealing approach.
I only did a sketch for the profile, the rest came up quite naturaly.
Acrylics.

Gelatine n°2, 130x 80

Among others, obviously, Artists I got mostly influenced by are Egon Schiele, Edvard Munch and Ernest Pignon Ernest. I tried realizing what would be an accurate combinations of their work, with a more modern, younger approach. The all sketch was done within Two hours, with the same pen as its twin piece, and I then moved on to another piece. I went back onto it later on, and used pure china ink over the work, wich explains this almost "polished" aspect.

Gelatine n°1, 130x80

As a preview to the piece above, that sketch was inspired by the view of a child from the teenager I am.
No monster or surnatural creature is supposed to be seen on this work, wich I consider as a way of looking back into my childhood. Same media used as the other, and same process.

(In the memory of) LY. Pt. 2, 130x80

Death of a 9, 130x80

Browsing randomly through my mother's magazines and ended up with the weirdest picture of a 9 y.o. girl dancing.
Pens and Acrylics.
